The rain today will add much needed current and color to the low and clear Potomac. Added flows will draw more fish up into Fletchers Cove and will excite the fish that are already here. There may be a couple slow days due to cold and murky water but in the long run this is exactly what we need. Shad fishing has been consistent but nowhere near peak; higher flows will help concentrate fish for those epic days. Stripers have remained slow despite large amounts of bait in the river. Perch have begun to show up as well. Fletchers is open and renting boats, both by reservation and walk-up. DC fishing licenses can be purchased online.
